What does a Basic Design include?
A basic design must clearly describe and define the functions of the ship with all its systems and capabilities. This requires a coherent concept design.
Central feature: Functional, but manufacturer-independent. Systems and components are considered neutrally.
The steel structure is represented so that every structural component is present. Details are not a component (for example, foundations, knee plates). Dimensioning is based on the results of global strength calculations.
The result is documents that can be submitted to the class for approval.
The understanding of the scope of a basic design is often different. For this reason, we always include a drawing list/ document list that clearly defines the scope for all parties involved.
